How to make work available to the widest audience on the Internet.

Introduction

How many people at home have windows XP, How many use a MAC, Office 2000. office 2003, wndows 98 -first or second edition? The problem is the differnt systems people run. This effects their ability to open files on the Internet. We use windows 2000 and Office 2000. To get round this we save in PDF or HTML.

Main

Activity 1

20 minutes, what have you learned in ICT this term? Open Microsoft WORD. Go back through the Intranet pages and write a minimum of one sentence and a maximum of three for each lesson. Save your document in J:/ICT call it 'Y7term1.doc'

Activity 2

Inside word, select 'File/Print ' and choose 'CutePDF' as the printer. Save the file in your eportfolio (Public_html) in a folder called 'Documents'

Open Dreamweaver and from the 'year 7' page in ICT put a hyperlink to the file, the teacher will show you how.

Extension

Add one or more PDF's from work done in other subjects to your eportfolio.

Homework

From home or in school at lunchtime, get access to your eportfolio from the Internet and test the pdf and see if it opens. If there is a prblem see your ICT teacher.
