Eportfolios |
At FGS we put a web folder called 'public_html' on every students drive. the intention was for it to be used only by those students doing the DiDA course. In practice all students used them from the beginning. The result has been quite revolutionary. |
Parents evening |
On parents evening the work the student has saved to the eportfolio is shown to their parents, who are also given a leaflet explain how to get access to the eportfolio on a regular basis. Instead of one contact a year they now have many opportunities to follow their child's progress. |

Assessment |
Students save the best work from each half term to their eportfolio. The teacher has a spreadsheet with all the addresses on and clicks through, marks the work on the spreadsheet. |
Organisation |
When we did the GNVQ-ICT we saved six folders of 50-100 pages for each of 100+ students for three years. All of this had to be moved around for marking and storage. The eportfolios have got rid of that plus the photocopying and printing bill are 5% of what they were. |
