Introducing DiDA in year 9
Why would you want to? |
One lesson a week in years 10 and 11 is not enough time to ensure a good result with AiDA. If you deliver level 1 D201 - Using ICT - as a practice then the students are used to the order of topics and the method of saving work on an eportfolio. |
What about the KS3 strategy? |
The level one syllabus is structured on the QCAs Schemes of Work and covers everything apart from control. It helps the students make the transition to longer term project based work, but can be kept light and interesting. |

.....and the end of KS3 tests?
These become compulsory in 2008, but there is no reason why they cannot be taken at the end of year 8, after all the government wants us to innovate with the curriculum. It is not the half time score that counts, its the score at the end of the game. |
Year 8 |
At my school we have ordered the year 8 ICT work so that the QCA SOW follow the order and structure of the year 9 work. You can find a sample of the work students do here. |
Year 8 Citizenship |
This is an example of a 6 week course on citizenship that uses ICT. It uses a range of multimedia and requires micrisoft publisher. I offer it as an example of an approach I have had some success with. Here
You can download it as a zip file from the Downloads page |
